X Factor finalist Mary Byrne has blasted the show has becoming “too predictable” – insisting things need to change this year.
The former Tesco worker made it to the semi-finals of the hit programme in 2010, but doesn’t feel it has been as good since.
In Mary’s year, stars including One Direction, Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson were all finalists.
“I watch it every year even though X Factor’s been bad for a few years now,” she said.

“Over the last few years, it just didn’t click for me. It was too predictable. You knew what was going to happen.
“It lost something and it just wasn’t as good as it was in the years before.”
And Mary admits that she thinks it will be Mel B who will liven up the panel – not Cheryl Cole.
Instead the Dubliner, who is back out on tour next month, told the Star that only men and young girls will tune in for her.
Won’t shake it up: Mary thinks Mel B will boost panel – not Cheryl | ITV
She said: “I never liked Mel B in the Spice Girls but I saw her as a guest judge and there’s just no holding back this girl.
“I thought she was great. She says it like it is. I think she’s really going to add some excitement to the show.
“It’s great that Simon Cowell is back too – he’ll really boost the viewing figures.
“I’m not too sure that Cheryl Cole will liven up the panel – she was a judge when I was there and she’s a lovely girl.
“She’s very pretty and she’s the size of a little twig – she’ll probably attract the male viewers and the little girls who want to wear her dresses.”
