Making A Murderer’s Steven Avery back on screens next month

Steven Avery will make his return to screens next month.

The Wisconsin native, who was the subject of Netflix’s popular Making a Murderer docuseries, will appear on Dr. Phil next month.

Steven will speak to Dr. Phil on the phone while he remains behind bars for an episode that will air on Oct. 3 and 4.

Dr. Phil McGraw will also have Steven’s fiancée, Lynn Hartman, in the studio, where they will discuss their relationship, Steven’s life in prison and his hopes for the future.

“The truth is coming out, and sooner or later all the truth will come out,” Avery said in an interview, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Steven Avery was convicted in 2007 for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach and is serving life in prison at the Waupun Correctional Institute in Wisconsin. Steven filed an appeal in the case at the beginning of the year, soon after Netflix released the first season of Making a Murderer.

His nephew, Brendan Dassey, recently saw his own conviction overturned in the same murder case.

This will be Steven’s first broadcast interview ever.
