Love/Hate's Laurence Kinlan sobs as newborn son is born

Love/Hate actor Laurence Kinlan cried as he left his newborn son Ollie to return to the show’s set.

The TV star – who plays Elmo – had been on set in Ballymun, Dublin for the first day of filming when he got the news that his girlfriend gave birth.

He said: “My baby son Ollie was born at 9:47am this morning. Mammy and Baby are doing great. Daddy is filming and can’t wait to leave set to see him.”

The 31-year-old – who already has son Oren, six – was made finish his scenes in The Towers pub, before running off to meet Ollie in hospital.

He said: “I was allowed leave set to see my beautiful son Ollie for a half hour. Cried leaving him 🙁 Back to filming now.”

Love/Hate: Filming the show with Tom Vaughan Lawlor

Previously Laurence admitted he wouldn’t mind being killed off in the show, which is rumoured to be getting rid of one major name.

He said: “All the actors are in the same boat because we never know what’s happening. But if it’s the end of your character, that’s it.

“I’d never be worried about being written out because I love the show and have full trust that Stuart would do it right.”
