Love Island responds to claims that the show is ‘rigged’ in certain contestants favour

Love Island producers have been forced to respond to claims that the show is “fixed” or “rigged” in favour of certain contestants.

The response comes after public attention was drawn to an old Reddit Q&A from 2018’s series with an alleged Love Island employee.

The thread alleged that the show is fixed for certain contestants to win.

When asked if producers “manipulate the show based on who they want to win, the source replied “Yeah, absolutely.”

The source’s link to Love Island was allegedly confirmed by the moderators of the thread.

A rep for Love Island has responded to the claims.

From ITV Studios

“As anyone who watches the show regularly would know, Love Island is a combination of reality and produced elements that are reflective of what’s happening in the villa, and is a fair and accurate representation of villa life.

“We have always been completely transparent about this and the way the show is produced. This is often acknowledged in the voice over by Iain Stirling,” they added.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
