Love Island: Amy Hart’s family reveal that she has received death threats

Amy Hart’s family have revealed that the air hostess has received numerous death threats and been on the receiving end of online “bullying” since entering the villa.

The threats come as a reaction to her perceived behavior towards Lucie. The family took to Amy’s Instagram, which has garnered a following of 468,000, to release a statement to her feed:

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however the way some people are gunning for Amy is shocking and really upsetting for her friends and family and everyone who knows and loves her,” they wrote.

“The other couples also voted for Lucie and Joe at least compatible due to their recent ups and downs, and nobody in the villa knew it would end in any islanders being voted out.”

“The volume of hateful comments and death threats we have received over the last couple days has been completely off the scale and extremely upsetting.”

The statement continues: “They still continue to come through and it stems from one comment made four episodes ago which was said in support of Lucie. Amy is a fierce friend.”

“She is kind, loyal and support of Lucie. She wants the best for everyone and is willing to give herself entirely to those she cares about.”

“Amy is not malicious or vindictive and she is certainly not a bully.”

“We would like to thank those sending malicious and vile messages to think about the implications of their words and threats before plastering them over social media. Anyone who knows Amy knows she does not deserves this.”

Former Love Island cast member Laura Anderson responded to the statement, saying: “I totally understand the need to post this. Was so lovely to meet Amy’s family and I’m confident just by getting to them that Amy is the sweetest girl.”

“TV edits can be misleading trust me. She’ll turn things around just you wait.”
