Louis Walsh feels the Stress Factor – as bootcamp the most 'brutal' part of his 11 series

Louis Walsh has admitted this weekend’s X Factor bootcamp is the most “brutal” part of the show he’s ever been involved in.

The Mayo man and his fellow judges will be seen deciding the final 24 acts who make it through to the next stage of the competition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

They select the final six in their category through the brutal six-seat challenge – where acts think they have made it through before being replaced at the last minute.

Audience members end up booing Cheryl Cole who says she wants to throw up – while Simon Cowell has to calm the rebel crowds watching on.

And Louis, 61, said it was the most stress-filled moment of the 11 years he’s been on the show, adding: “The whole experience was hell”.

He said: “It really was brutal. We had to make really tough decisions and we had a live audience going mental behind us a lot of the time.

“It was really very hard letting good people go and trying not to be influenced by the crowd. It was one of the most stressful times I can every remember spending on the show.”

He told the Star that none of the four judges enjoyed any moment of their time at bootcamp.

He said: “The contestants were put through the wringer and were really stressed but the judges were left exhausted by the experience too. The whole bootcamp experience was hell – none of us enjoyed it.”

Irish stars Janet Grogan, Orla Keogh and Chris Leonard are among those trying to get through.
