Line Of Duty showrunner Jed Mercurio has revealed the show could return sooner than we thought.
Fans have been waiting patiently for the BBC drama’s sixth season, after they were forced to wait two years for the fifth series.
But it doesn’t look like fans will have to wait as long this time.
When asked when the sixth series will air, Jed told RadioTimes: “I would hope it’s sometime in 2020, next year. But that’s not something that we’re able to confirm.”
As for when production will start, Jed said: “That’s something that we have at the planning stage, so we are working towards a date.”
“We can’t confirm everything until things are in place.”
