Laura Whitmore is GLAD the IFTAs were a disaster – as she's so used to everyone loving her

TV presenter Laura Whitmore has admitted she was glad the IFTAs were a total shambles – as it allowed her to finally get some negative feedback.

The MTV star and co-host Simon Delaney were the public face of the award ceremony, which was an absolute disaster – with viewers unable to hear half of what they were saying.

But Laura, 29, believes it was the best learning curve for her – as she’s used to people only telling her she’s fabulous.

Happy: Laura was glad to finally get some negative feedback | ITV

She said: “Things go wrong and I think it was good for me because I’ve never had any negativity from my work before. But at the end of the day, it was a live show and I stood there.”

However Laura doesn’t know whether there will be another live IFTAs next year after the shambles.

She said: “They tried it and it didn’t work. I had a good chat with everyone from the IFTAs afterwards; I am not going to put blame on anyone. Hopefully you do it and you learn. I don’t know what will happen next year.”

She added: “All I could do was the best with what I was given. It was a strange one. I just felt like me and Simon didn’t have much support in the situation which is a shame.”

Running away: Laura went on holiday immediately after IFTAs

And Laura told Irish Tatler that she “wasn’t comfortable from the start” and wished she was boozing with the rest of the crowd.

She added: “There are a lot of things I wasn’t happy about before we even started, on the night – technical things I didn’t feel safe with.

“You are only as good as the team around you and I know when I work with the I’m A Celebrity team that it’s quite a slick operation.”
