Laura Whitmore hits out at The Late Late Show for booking Katie Hopkins

Laura Whitmore has hit out at The Late Late Show, after she appeared on the programme last night.

The presenter joined thousands of outraged listeners, who sent over 1300 complaints to RTÉ after her interview – but the reason behind Laura’s outrage is even more shocking.

In a note posted to Twitter, the Bray native called out the show for booking controversial guests like Katie, and slammed them for previously cancelling one of her own appearances “last minute”.

The Strictly star was booked to go on the show to discuss her charity work with Plan Ireland, however, the interview was cancelled as producers said they didn’t like doing those ‘charity pieces’.

“I was booked to go on the Late Late show a year ago to talk about my child sponsorship with Plan Ireland (I’ve sponsored a little girl for 6 years in the Philippines),” Laura wrote.

“I had made a trip a month before to raise awareness of the children, specifically females, taken out of school too young to support their families. It was cancelled last minute and I was informed the charity had been told by the producer they don’t like doing those ‘charity pieces’.

“It angers me that certain other people who don’t need such a platform are given it to spread negativity and let’s face it, absolute nonsense. It leaves me with little faith in this world,” she added.

The news comes after Katie Hopkins and host Ryan Tubridy got into a FIGHT on the show last night.
