Laura Anderson says this year’s Love Island cast in it ‘for fame’ not ‘love’

2018 Love Islander Laura Anderson has claimed that this year’s contestants are only on the show to gain fame, not to find love.

The former airhostess said that many people go into the show for the wrong reasons.

She told Closer magazine: “The chances of finding love on the show are extremely slim.”

“There are so many people in the world — what are the odds that your soul mate is going to be in the villa?

“I guess the show attracts a similar type of person too, so there’s not much variety.

“I think a lot of people go on for the wrong reasons as well — for fame, rather than love.”

Her comments echo those of Amber Davies. Amber won the series back in 2017 with ex-boyfriend Kem Cetinay.

“Now they know exactly what they’re going in, and they know exactly what’s going to happen when they come out,” she told the Lorraine Show in June.

“They’re signing up for fame. We necessarily didn’t sign up for fame, we didn’t.”

“So this year I think they know what they’re going in there to do, they know what kind of money they’re going to be coming out to.”

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm.
