Kit Harington admits Jon Snow’s return was ‘disappointing’

Kit Harington has admitted that he thought his character Jon Snow’s return was “disappointing”.

The actor’s character was famously killed off at the end of Game of Thrones season five, but was brought back to life in the second episode of season six – much to fans delight.

However, despite being glad of his return – Kit was initially disappointed with his reincarnation.

”I knew I was coming back to life, but I didn’t know if I’d come back as a changed person, as a villain. So I couldn’t pre-plan anything, which was hard.

”I got the scripts, and actually, he comes back as himself, as the Jon that everyone knows. Which at first I found disappointing,” he told The Wrap.

Although he was a little disappointed, the 29-year-old thinks his character does have an advantage.

”But he has an insight into what lies beyond that very few people in this world do. He knows that there’s no afterlife. Which does quietly drive who he is and what he wants to do.”

Safe: Kit Harrington feels safe as his character has already been killed off | HBO

Game of Thrones creators are notorious for killing off various characters every season, including show favourites, but after Jon Snow was brought back to life – Kit felt like he could breathe a sigh of relief.

“Here’s the thing, I feel like one of the safest people on Thrones now. Maybe I shouldn’t say that. He could die next season, but I felt very safe this season.

“Because if I come back to life in episode two, it would be awful storytelling if you kill me in episode four. So I felt a bit cocky this season,” he added.
