EXCLUSIVE! Kathryn Thomas wants to make a CELEBRITY version of Operation Transformation

Operation Transformation host Kathryn Thomas has revealed she wants to make a celebrity version of the show.

The RTE star admitted she’d especially like to help Ray Foley shed his three stone – after the radio star spoke out about his need to shed the pounds.

And Kathryn told Goss.ie that it would be a great way of showing the public that stars can have the exact same weight hangups.

Asked if she wants a celeb version of Operation Transformation, she said: “I’d love it – I think it would be amazing. So many of those celebrity shows, people see another side of celebrities.

“They have this image in the press, or whatever. I suppose it’s like I’m A Celebrity, you put people in a situation like that and you see their true personality.

“And I think with weight loss, it’s such a personal thing and so many emotions come out throughout the process of the show – so much of it is tied into peoples’ emotional and mental wellbeing.

“So I think that would be interesting for a concept, definitely.”

Earlier this month, ex-Take Me Out host Ray admitted he’d put on three stone since his new early morning radio job – and does feel “fat” now.

He also revealed this week that he has only lost a pound so far this year, and won’t shed it all until 2054.

But Kathryn, 35, would love to now help change that – and feels it was especially brave for a male TV star to open up like that.

She told Goss.ie: “I think it would be great [to help Ray]. I thought it was brilliant that he came out and said that, because his whole thing was that he was hiding behind the microphone.

“He was able to in radio, but in television you’re out there and everyone is looking at you, and judging you.

“For him to come out and say that was great, because it isn’t just women who worry about it – it’s everybody.”

And The Voice host Kathryn also told Goss.ie that she would have similar hangups about how she looks on camera.

She added: “I would worry about how I look on the camera, I wouldn’t be a woman if I didn’t. I think everybody has their hangups.

“Have I always been like that before I went on television? Yeah. So it hasn’t really changed for me.

“But do I starve myself or deny myself food just because I’m on television? No. So I don’t think it has changed me. I think like any woman, or man, you are just conscious of how you look.”

RTE are currently searching for new leaders for the upcoming season of the show.
