Irish stars filming new chiller in Ireland’s most haunted house

Irish stars are in for a spooky surprise as they’ve started filming at ‘Ireland’s most haunted house’.

The terrifying ghost story, entitled The Lodgers, will star Moone Boy actress Deirdre O’Kane and Vikings star Moe Dunford – who are set to film in Co. Wexford’s Loftus Hall.

Set back in the 1920s during the War of Independence, the film tells the story of Anglo-Irish orphan twins Rachel and Edward.

The siblings, who are about to turn 18, live in a crumbling mansion – but soon discover that they are not alone as there are supernatural forces in the basement.

The Lodgers will be filmed almost entirely in Loftus Hall, with the cast also including Róisín Murphy (What Richard Did), David Bradley (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones), Eugene Simon (Game of Thrones, Bill Milner (X-Men: First Class), and Spanish actress Charlotte Vega.

The Lodgers’ story was written by musician and professor of gothic literature David Turpin, and the film will be directed by Brian O’Malley (Let Us Prey).

According to RTÉ Entertainment, the director gushed about the film’s cast as production is now under way.

“I think they will do a phenomenal job of bringing this world to life and translating the story to audiences in a really emotional way,” he said.
