Huge X Factor winner signs up as a judge on X Factor: The Band

Leona Lewis has reportedly signed up to be a guest judge on Simon Cowell’s upcoming project X Factor: The Band.

Simon will judge the show alongside Nicole Scherzinger, and a slew of guest judges as Louis Walsh takes a step back from the series.

Leona won the third series of The X Factor in 2006, winning a £1 million recording contract with Simon’s label. She went on to release a series of successful hits, including Bleeding Love, Run and Better In Time.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Simon appreciates Leona is a huge part of ‘The X Factor’, so getting her on board for his new show brings a sense of continuation.”

“Simon has made it very clear he doesn’t want anybody wasting his time,” another source told The Metro of the mogul’s plan for the show.

“He means business. He wants a new band for 2020.”

“The auditionees have one chance and one chance only to impress the team. That’s why auditions took place at Simon’s record label, with auditions being across Syco – so that when people succeeded, everyone saw.”

“The same when someone failed to impress.”

“This isn’t a TV audition, it’s the biggest record label meeting the prospective artists could ever hope for.”
