Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh to open up about sexuality as FIRST guest on new Late Late Show

Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh will be opening up about her sexuality when the Late Late Show returns tomorrow.

The Philadelphia Rose last month came out as gay – making her the first lesbian winner of the annual competition.

Now Maria, 27, will speak on TV for the first time about her brave decision to open up about her sexuality.

A source said: “This will be a very emotive interview. So far Maria has only done one interview about her sexuality – in a newspaper.

“Now Maria will get to tell the nation why she believes sexuality doesn’t matter, and why she decided to come out.”

Previously Maria told how she was proud to be the competition’s first ever gay winner – but found it “normal” to be gay.

Tomorrow night, Tubridy will be back for his sixth season in charge of the RTE One chat show – the 53rd overall.

The 41-year-old will also be joined by Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and TV star Baz Ashmawy.

However the lineup is painfully missing any international stars to compete against Graham Norton, which the BBC show at the same time.

Recently Tubs insisted that this season of the Late Late Show would be his best ever, without any distractions to stop him hitting his stride.

During the summer, the 2FM presenter worked with Late Late Show legend Gay Byrne on his hosting skills.

RTE will be introducing a new Late Late Show set in the New Year – which Tubs is designing.
