Fair City star, Stephanie Kelly, has revealed that she became homeless after leaving the soap.
The actress, who plays Sash Bishop, revealed to the Mirror that she was forced to live in emergency accommodation for a year.
“I tried to find apartments but no one would accept the rent supplement and I had to register as homeless.”
The star left the soap in 2012, as she was expecting a baby.
“I was in a B&B. I cried non-stop the whole first night,” she admitted.
And even at that, she said she saw people “who had it worse”.
“It made me appreciate even having that room – at least I had somewhere to go. But to be back on Fair City now and seeing Nikki being homeless, talking about the social – it’s mirroring my life. It was such a difficult time.”
