Love/Hate's Linda joins TV3's new soap Red Rock – as production begins today

Love/Hate actress Denise McCormack has joined the cast of TV3’s new soap Red Rock.

The Dublin star, who played Fran’s wife Linda in the RTE drama, is back on the TV scene with TV3’s new drama.

Element Pictures, who are behind What Richard Did and Bachelors Walk, are making the show alongside Company Pictures, who’s owner was behind Eastenders and Hollyoaks.

TV insiders have confirmed to Goss.ie that filming has begun today with over 100 people working on the set including actors, extras and production.

“Production has started today and everyone is very excited,” a source said.

“The actors are nervous about the first day of filming but everyone is looking forward to getting it started.

“From extras to production teams and actors there will be around 100 people working on the show, so it’s going to be busy,” the insider added.

So far Game of Thrones actress Jane McGrath and actor Richard Flood have been revealed as the two main stars of the series.

The new series, which will air in January 2015, will follow a coastal town in Dublin with a focus on the local Garda station.

TV3 are spending a massive €4.5million to make the soap, and were given €800,000 of the costs of producing the half-hour show by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
