Ex on the Beach series featuring Mike Thalassitis pulled following his death

The upcoming series of Ex on the Beach featuring Mike Thalassitis has been pulled following his death.

Police confirmed the 26-year-old was found “hanged” on Saturday, just days after the death of his grandmother who he lived with.

The reality star was set to appear on the next series of Ex on the Beach later this year, but the entire season has now been scrapped, months after it was filmed.

“We were very sad to hear the tragic news about Mike Thalassitis and our thoughts are with his family and friends,” MTV said in a statement to MailOnline.

“Last year, Mike took part in filming for the next series of Ex on the Beach, which was due to air on MTV later in the year.”

“In light of the news of Mike’s death, we have decided not to broadcast the planned tenth season of the show.”

Mike’s death sparked huge controversy amongst former Love Island contestants, as they criticised bosses of the show for reportedly not offering psychological support after the programme finished.

This morning a statement was released by the programme executives in which they said there will be therapy and pre-show training offered to future islanders.
