Declan Donnelly is set to sing the iconic Friends theme song on this week’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

In a tip of the hat to his troubled pal Ant McPartlin, the 42-year-old will perform I’ll Be There For You, while Ant watches from rehab.

The Daily Star has reported that Dec will perform the song with original band, The Rembrandts, on this week’s SNT finale in Florida – which he’s set to host alone for the second time since Ant’s drink-driving arrest.

A source said, “If ever there were a song to sum up Ant and Dec’s friendship for the past 25 years then the Rembrandts track is it.”

“The pair are fans of the comedy show and they even spoofed it on their 1990s SMTV show and called it Chums.”

Meanwhile, actress Denise Richards and pop singer Craig David are booked as guests for the show’s finale.

Dec was welcomed with a huge amount of support on Saturday night when he hosted SNT alone for the first time ever.

At the end of the episode, Dec got emotional as he told the live studio audience, “It’s been the weirdest, weirdest show.”

“I wasn’t sure how I was going to do or how you were going to react . . . but you carried me all the way through the show.”

Dec later tweeted, “Thanks for all your lovely messages tonight, they are VERY much appreciated. I’m glad you enjoyed the show. I didn’t sleep an awful lot last night, so I’m off to bed!”

Ant, who is set to take the rest of the year off, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday over the crash in South West London, which led to his drink-driving charge.
