Declan Donnelly has released a statement following Ant McPartlin’s drink-driving arrest on Sunday.

The TV presenter has returned to rehab to seek treatment, after he crashed into two cars in London over the weekend while under the influence.

Since the news broke, the final two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, which Ant hosts alongside his telly partner Dec, have been in doubt.

However, Dec has released a statement to confirm that the final two episodes will go ahead without Ant.

“Whilst I never thought I’d be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we’ve decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead,” Dec wrote.

“We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.

“Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x,” the statement concluded.
