Dara O'Briain blasts RTE for spelling his name wrong

Comedian Dara O’Briain has blasted RTE for not spelling his name correctly.

The Mock The Week presenter, 42, made fun of the State broadcaster – where he began his career – on Twitter.

He said: “Dear RTE, if you’d like me to come on a show to talk about being Irish in Britain, try not to call me Daire o Brien throughout the e-mail.”

He added: “Sorry. Bit of a pet hate that. BBC can handle a name as Gaeilge, so RTE certainly should be able to. I’ll get one addressed to Dora Bryant some day. Or Derren Brown.”

The Bray star later told Goss.ie that he wasn’t attacking one researcher but that it was an ongoing issue with RTE.
