Cheryl has reportedly ruled out returning to The X Factor this year, despite being lined up to replace Nicole Scherzinger.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Nicole has been axed from the judging panel as part of a massive shake-up, however, Cheryl has no interest in filling the Pussycat Doll’s shoes.

According to The Sun, Cheryl has already committed to Simon Cowell’s new dance show, The Greatest Dancer, which will air on the BBC.

Cheryl, who has always showed an interest in dance, will reportedly appear on the show’s judging panel alongside Britian’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.

A source said, “Cheryl loves X Factor but she enjoyed filming the pilot for new BBC programme and loved it.”

“The show feels fresh and because it’s a new format she is excited by that. Dance has always been a passion for her so it feels right for her.”

The series, created by Syco and Thames TV, will see dancers across different genres competing to be named the UK’s Greatest Dancer.

Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, the brother of Ashley Banjo, hosted the pilot, while Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse and Glee star Matthew Morrison were mentors to the contestants.

With Cheryl ruled out, singer Rita Ora is now hotly tipped to return to The X Factor, after winning the show back in 2015 with Louisa Johnson.

However, an X Factor spokesperson told the MailOnline, “There is always speculation regarding the judging panel. It’s too early to confirm the judges for the next series.”
