The BBC have released a statement outlining their reasons for putting two Ed Westwick productions on hold for the foreseeable future.

Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence, due to be on BBC One at Christmas, was dropped from the schedule according to a BBC spokesperson.

“The BBC is not making any judgement but until these matters are resolved we will not include Ordeal by Innocence in the schedules.”

“These are serious allegations which Ed Westwick has strenuously denied”, they added.

The three-part Agatha Christie novel adaptation stars Bill Nighy, Eleanor Tomlinson and Anna Chancellor. It was expected to be one of the highlights on the BBC’s Christmas schedule.

The Chalet Girl star has also “paused” filming on the second series of the BBC Two comedy White Gold according to the BBC Twitter post.

“The independent production company making White Gold has informed us that Ed Westwick has paused from filming while he deals with these allegations.”

The 30 year old English actor, famous for his role in Gossip Girl, was accused during the week of sexually assaulting two women.

Ed has denied the allegations, but the BBC have made it very clear that they will not be airing these two productions until the case is cleared up.
