Ant McPartlin could return to his hosting duties on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! later this year, despite previous reports that he was taking the rest of the year off.

The 42-year-old took a step back from all his TV commitments back in March, after he was arrested for drink-driving in South London.

However, sources close to Ant have told the UK Daily Mirror that the presenter could be back for I’m A Celebrity following his successful stint in rehab.

A source said, “He did well in rehab… He feels like it has helped. That is what he needed, but he does not need any more for the time being. I think he will be back for I’m a Celebrity.”

The insider also added that Ant will be accompanied by a sober companion over the next few months to keep him on the straight and narrow.

The news comes after Ant and his telly partner Declan Donnelly were spotted out in public together for the first time in months.

The TV duo posed with a fan in a pub garden in London, and added that they were “lovely guys” and that they had no problem posing for a picture.

Last month, Ant was fined £86,000 following his drink-driving arrest, and received a 20 month ban.

Ant is said to be doing well, amid reports that his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong is willing to give their marriage another shot – after the pair announced their split earlier this year after 11 years together.
