Adam Collard has slammed claims that Love Island is fake.

The former contestant has come out to defend the popular dating show, after persistent claims by viewers that the show is scripted.

Even Adam’s Love Island girlfriend has hinted at this, recently revealing to the OK! Magazine that Rosie’s altercation with Adam was “scripted”.

She told the magazine “What the viewers don’t know is that Rosie had been planning that chat all day.”

Zara added that Rosie had “written out the whole speech on her phone and had been rehearsing it.”

But now, Adam has come to the shows defence by telling OK!, “The show is very organic. It’s not scripted at all, it’s not set up at all. What it is is they make things prettier, that’s as simple as I can put it.”

However, he did state that the producers do have some input into what goes on.

He continued, “If I was going to kiss Zara in bed on a morning for the first time and they thought that I was going to do that, they would say… ‘Can you save that for when you don’t have bed hair, you don’t look terrible and save it for when you look nice on a night in a romantic spot?'”

When asked if some scenes were re-shot, the personal trainer revealed, “The only thing you would retake would be in a challenge, if someone slips for example. But no, not on normal things like conversations.”

Since leaving the villa, Adam and Zara have become an official item, with Adam even getting Zara’s initial tattooed on his hand.

Watch the final episode of Love Island tonight at 9pm on 3e.
