She’s been working in the fashion industry for years as a stylist, but Angela Scanlon has said she would hate to be a model.
The RTE presenter, who has been filming travel show Getaways, said she wouldn’t walk the catwalk “Even if I had legs up to my armpits”.
“(I’d) hate to be a model,” she said.
“It’s a job that’s often thrust upon people. They’re chosen rather than seeking it out. It’s
granted, not earned and there can be a sense that a person who chooses that path has very little control.”

“Their whole worth is based on how they look and that must be a scary place to be.”
Angela, 31, has often been compared to UK fashion star Alexa Chung, and Angela doesn’t seem to be a fan of the comparison.
“I’m still figuring it all out. I am too open and a bit gobby so sometimes I attempt to rein it in again and then I think, f*** it’.
“The most difficult thing is to be yourself in an industry that often demands and rewards PC auto-cuties.”
Happy: Angela and Rory wed this summer
Meanwhile Angela gushed about her husband Roy. The pair said “I do” this summer in Wicklow.
“Roy is kind and smart, he has such a brilliant mind and unwavering determination. He’s so positive and such a massive support to me, pushing me on when I want to retreat into a black hole.”
“He’s my best mate in the world and I feel very lucky to have him,” she said.
