Amanda Byram totally 'sabotaged' her health by trying to become far too skinny

TV star Amanda Byram believes she “sabotaged” her health by trying to become too skinny.

The former Total Wipeout presenter admits she was too concerned with shedding unnecessary pounds – before transforming her thoughts on fitness.

She added: “I truly believe that a healthy lifestyle leads to a healthy, fit body. I wasted too many years trying to be ‘skinny’ and sabotaged my health in doing so.

Hard work: Amanda shows off her gorgeous figure

“When I reached my 40th year, I decided that I wanted to be strong, not skinny, and now I aim to train when I can and eat for strength.

“I believe that your health is a dedication. You need to put aside time in your day to prepare food and work out.

“And I also believe that what you put into your body is just as important as what you do to your body. Health is created from the inside out.”

And Amanda, 41, revealed that her initial training spurt started when she was asked to pose just in her knickers.

Nude pose: Amanda stripped off last year | WOMEN’S HEALTH

The ex-Ireland AM host later went on to strip off completely last year for a magazine article proving that it’s better to be strong.

“I started training seriously when I lived in LA and I was asked to do a magazine shoot in my underwear,” she told Natural Life.

“I decided that I wanted to be in good enough shape that there was no airbrushing necessary.

“I trained with my first trainer and ended up eating more than ever and doing some serious weights.

“After years of experimenting with diets and depriving myself of good foods, I was in the best shape of my life at 30.”
