And fitness expert Karl Henry will help the celebs shed the pounds.

A source previously said: “It is a very exciting prospect. This is not about fat-shaming celebrities. The same ethos applies to the celeb version as the original format and we won’t be humiliating anybody.”

“This is about promoting a healthier lifestyle and getting celebrities on who maybe want to lose a few pounds or change their eating habits is what we are after.

“This is not I’m A Celebrity… it is about creating positive messages with some well-known faces. The celebs will not have to strip off completely for the weigh-in; that is totally their choice.

But we hope that they will get into the spirit of the show,” the source added.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for RTÉ confirmed that Celebrity Operation Transformation was being cast, and will hit our screens on RTÉ One this autumn.

“We are currently developing a spin-off series of Operation Transformation which we hope to air in early autumn. However, we’re not in a position to comment further on it at this time,” the spokesman revealed.
