A large work of art by Joe Caslin has been covering one side of RTÉ for over a week and today the reason for it has been revealed.
The piece of art faces on to the Stillorgan Road and shows a pensive, worried, young man wearing a hoody.
Regina Looby has said, “People have been asking about the amazing piece of art hanging in #RTE for past week, can reveal today that it’s there to promote #RTEBigPic initiative which shines a light on #youthmentalhealth in Ireland. Programmes across @rte platforms will all take part in awareness campaign.”

The artist captioned the same photo, “Y O U N G & T R O U B L E D. ‘The Big Picture – Young and Troubled’, Airing Thursday 9.35pm on RTÉ One.”
He has worked extensively with Pieta House in the past doing great work for the mental health charity.
You may already know Caslin for the mural he did before the marriage equality referendum which depicted two men embracing. It made the cover of the New York Times and GCN.
The announcement of Joe’s mental health project comes in the same week fellow artist Maser had his “Repeal The 8th” mural removed from the side of the Project Arts Centre for the second time.
