WATCH: John Cusack discovers his Irish roots

Hollywood actor John Cusack finds his Irish roots in an RTE interview.

RTE’s Naoimh Reilly and Denise Lavelle were able to nab an interview with the 50-year-old actor during his trip to Ireland.

The Say Anything star travelled over for his Irish film project and the Belfast Film Festival. The interview was featured on Today with Maura and Dáithí.

When questioned about his heritage, Cusack said his Father’s family was from Meath, however according to genealogists, his roots are from Ballygar in Galway.

Eneclann are the same heritage company that traced Obama’s roots to Moneygall.

John tried to insist his Father’s family hailed from Meath.

Denise let him know that Eneclann said he was “the most Irish person” as all “16 of your great-great grandparents” were also Irish.
