Washed out: Celebs get soaked at Pride of Ireland Awards

Our favourite stars of TV and radio were forced to hide under umbrellas as they made their way to the Pride of Ireland awards last night, but that didn’t stop the glamour.

The VIP ceremony, hosted by Una Healy, took place in Dublin’s Manion House, with top celebrities in attendance.

And while the weather wasn’t bad enough to turn celebrities off the event, stars such as Claudine Keane, Imelda May and Holly Carpenter had to be brought to the red carpet with an umbrella over their heads.

Poor Anna Daly seemed to have arrived without an umbrella. The TV3 star was pictured soaking wet head to toe as she playfully posed for pictures at the event.

Feeling raw: Charlene McKenna looked drenched at the event

The TV presenter smiled and laughed as she posed in a peach dress – which was just as drenched as her hair and face.

Raw actress Charlene McKenna was also soaked from the rain. The Northern Irish actress smiled as she held an umbrella tightly on the red carpet.

But some celebs decided to fight through the bad weather. Lucan twins Jedward walked the red carpet with no help whatsoever, and didn’t seem to mind getting their infamous hair wet.

The X Factor stars wore matching blue suits with maroon coloured dickie bows. The twins didn’t seem to mind the rain and posed for multiple pictures.

And Robbie Keane’s model wife Claudine Keane also attended the event.

Not so Kean: Claudine was huddled under an umbrella

Wearing a stunning floor length white dress, the wife of the Irish footballer looked head-to-toe perfection.  The mum-of-one chose an interesting design which included a sheer material with sparkling silver embellishments going down one side of her body.

Thankfully someone was on hand with a large umbrella and guided her inside the event before soaked like the other guests.

Despite the terrible weather, all the VIP guests managed to still look glamorous.

Singer Imedla May took the spotlight on the red carpet. She sported her usual quirky hairstyle and chose to wear a one-shouldered gold dress with matching gold heels.

The Ray D’Arcy Show star showed off her pins in this short pink dress, open toe sandals and red jacket.

Despite the glitz and glamour the constant downpour couldn’t be ignored.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh also looked soaked at the event.

Sporting a lavender suit jacket, the music manager attended the awards with his new boyband Hometown.

Happy: Louis smiled for pictures despite walking the red carpet in the rain

Like other VIP guests Louis was left without an umbrella and walked the red carpet in the rain.

But alas there were some dry celebrities at the event. Xpose presenter Aisling O’Loughlin arrived early enough to miss the rain.

The mum-of-two looked elegant in a lime and white dress with a matching lime blaser and a grey hat.

Model turned singer Nadia Forde also had a lucky escape.

The BPM singer decided to make matters into her own hands and held an umbrella herself as she walked the red carpet.

The half-Italian model showed off her figure in this long black dress.

Nadia tried to replicate Angelina Jolie’s infamous red carpet look, with her leg out in a large slit in the front.

Some guests who arrived early didn’t have to face the rain at all.
