Anne Healy, Una Healy’s mum, has spoken out about her daughter’s split from her husband Ben Foden.
The singer jetted home to be surrounded by family in Thurles, Co Tipperary after she confronted her partner of ten years, six spent married, about cheating rumours.
Speaking to The Irish Sun her mum said, “It’s not the right time. It’s tough. It’s tough. It’s really hard.”
The couple share two children who are both in Ireland with their heartbroken mum.
Jim Ryan, a local councillor, also spoke to the paper and said, “It is a shock to everyone as the impression given was they were very happily married. But unfortunately that is the way things go sometimes.”
“She has an awful lot of friends in the town and she has a huge fan base locally.
“There is a big support base here in Thurles that will rally behind her definitely.
“It is a private matter and between themselves. But it does come as a surprise. And the thoughts of us all are with Una and the family. So we will console her, absolutely.”
