The first semi final saw immense talent from all over the country and further afield but unfortunately only two of the eight acts could progress to the finals.
Judges Louis Walsh, Michele Visage, Jason Byrne and Denise VanHouten were joined by host Lucy Kennedy to witness the first batch of semi finalists fight for their place in the final.
The semi final showed us everything from aerial acrobatics to puppets but the public had the power as they voted through their favourite two acts.
The five acts with the lowest amount of votes from the public immediately went home: Mini Puppet Popstars, Tamara, Matt, Keva and Christopher.
FKFT received the highest public vote and went straight through to the final.

Linda McLouhglin and Ru Paul Ryder were then at the mercy of the judges votes.
The judges decided to send Ru Paul Ryder home, a crowd favourite who slayed. He may still reenter the competition through the wild card.
Linda McLoughlin and FKFT are the first confirmed finalists.
Ok who else is trying to sing along with Linda and failing miserably? ????♀️ THAT VOICE!! #GotTalentIRL pic.twitter.com/LPlghEIN7C

Before being eliminated Tamara caused controversy by blaming the production team for her song choices after she received some constructive criticism from the judges.

The grand final is on this Saturday. The six contestants voted through will be joined by one wildcard to compete to win the Ireland’s Got Talent crown.
