Miss Ireland’s first ever traveller finalist has revealed she was verbally attacked.
Sarah Jane Dunne, who is vying for the Miss Ireland 2o14 crown, said she was racially attacked during her first year of college.
“I was out with my friends. This girl started screaming ‘knacker’ at me. Like, screaming it directly at me.

“I was mortified. That wouldn’t have been something that happened to me often. My friends knew my background,” she told the Sunday Independent.
“She was obviously full of booze. It made her look really bad. Obviously it made me feel awful.”
Sarah, 24, will compete for the Miss Ireland crown this Saturday night representing Kilkenny.
