The Hearing Aid Prank, Horse Outside and more: Our top 6 Rubberbandits videos

With honorary awards, teaming up with Russell Brand, shows on ITV, RTE and more, The Rubberbandits are top of their game at the moment – but let’s not forget where they came from.

While Horse Outside catapulted the Limerick lads to fame, it was their prank calls that really got them started.

I remember driving around with the original Rubberbandits CD playing over and over again – and no I’m not talking about tunes, these were the infamous prank phone calls that kicked off their careers.

It was difficult to get through this feature without bursting into fits of laughter, here’s a look at our favourite Rubberbandits moments:

The Hearing Aid Prank

One of the original prank calls from the Rubberbandits, I still can’t make it through the first few lines of this without bursting out laughing.

To say the woman on the end of the phone was starting to lose her patience is an absolute understatement.

Well done lads, well done.

The One That Went Wrong

There’s always a fear that a prank call can go totally wrong – well this one did and it ended up being one of the best pranks to date.

The lads were constantly ringing up people playing jokes, but this time they got a little in over their head.

Keep this in mind when your friend sounds a little different on the phone.

The Bank Prank

Another original prank and another one I struggle to get through without tears of laughter streaming down my face.

The lads call a local bank in this one and accuse a teller of something ridiculous.

Can’t say the word Toblerone any more without thinking about this.

Horse Outside

We had to include this one.

The video that threw these lads into the spotlight and a made a career for now model Madeline Mulqueen (the bridesmaid).

The lyrics were just perfect, the tune was pumping and the video was just hilarious.

The Rubberbandits Guide To Limerick

For a while there The Rubberbandits had continuous segments on RTE’s Republic of Telly.

Now they have multiple shows, but we still reminisce over videos like this.

The lads played ‘roving reporters’ for a few weeks, with hilarious consequences.

The Rubberbandits on Joe Duffy

Possibly my favourite recording to date, not because it’s over the top funny but because Blind Boy Boatclub completely showed up callers on The Joe Duffy Show.

The Limerick created a lot of controversy when Willie O’Dea supported their Horse Outside video, and while haters love to hate, Blind Boy came on air and made fools of everyone up on their high horse (pardon the pun).

One of the greatest moments yet.
