The Cranberries are set to become the first Irish band to reach one billion views on a YouTube video.

The music video for their hit song Zombie was released in 1994, and was uploaded to the streaming site in June 2009.

Currently, the video stands at 962 million views and is on track to hit one billion before the end of the year.

Zombie was written in 1993 about the IRA bombing in Warrington, UK.

The Cranberries, who hail from Co. Limerick, formed in 1989.

After the death of lead singer Dolores O’Riordan in 2018, the band released their final album, In The End, before disbanding.
