Stuart Olding signs two-year deal with French club

The rugby player has signed a new deal after his contract was revoked by Ulster

Stuart Olding has signed a two-year deal with French rugby’s second tier club Brive.

The 25-year-old’s contract was revoked by Ulster and the Irish Rugby Football Union last month, after he was acquitted of rape charges in March.

Stuart, his former Ulster teammate Paddy Jackson, and two of their friends were all found not guilty in a highly-publicised rape trial, which took place in Belfast.

The not guilty verdict caused a massive public outcry, and the #IBelieveHer marches across the country – which shed light on the issue of consent.

According to The Irish Times, Brive’s new head coach Jeremy Davidson, a former Ulster and Ireland player, persuaded Stuart to join the French club.
