Singing, dancing and completely NAKED: Love/Hate's Fran shows new side in Gaiety show

He’s known for playing Fran the man in Love/Hate but fans are in for a shock when they see Peter Coonan in his new show.

The RTE actor has moved from screen to stage in the revival of Borstal Boy – an autobiographical play about Irish playwright Brendan Behan.

Not only does Peter sing solos and group songs in the production, he also performs several dance numbers and acts out an entire scene completely naked.

Peter shows off a softer, more vulnerable side in the show, now playing in Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre.

He’s a far cry from the Fran we’ve all grown to love, but the actor proves he’s just as good in a different role.

Last night the show received a warm welcome, with Peter and the cast getting a standing ovation on opening night.

Stars such as Joe Duffy, Marty Whelan, Caroline Downey and director Jim Sheridan attended the first night.
