Síle Seoige ‘sending so much love’ to fans after opening up about miscarriage

Síle Seoige has said that she is “sending so much love” to fans, after she opened up about about her miscarriage.

The presenter took to Instagram to tell her followers that she suffered a miscarriage before Christmas.

“A number of months ago I found out I was pregnant and we were absolutely over the moon,” she revealed.

“All was great, but it wasn’t meant to be. I had something I hadn’t even heart of before. I had a missed miscarriage.”

“Which if you’re like me and you hadn’t heard of it before, it basically means that you miscarry but nothing is happening physically to you,” she continued.

“It resulted in a D&C procedure. So I had the D&C in The Coombe and they were just gorgeous, all the staff in there are amazing. They are so compassionate and so caring. It’s okay for me talk about it now because I’ve processed it, but obviously at the time it was very difficult.”

“You don’t just get over it. You have to give your body time and not just your physical form but your thoughts and emotions as well. Everything is impacted.”

Síle went on to say that she decided to open up about her experience because talking about it has helped her.

“You might be wondering why I’m saying it. Well I’m a big believer in being honest and I actually feel that by talking about it it’s actually helping me a huge amount because I know from speaking to so many women that miscarriages are so common.”

“It’s about 10 weeks since my D&C and I have yet to have a period which is frustrating and strange,” the presenter continued.

“What we see on social media, Instagram, Twitter, it’s just a snapshot into people’s lives and it’s usually the best foot forward kind of stuff,” she added.

“There’s always stuff that’s going on in people’s lives that we have no clue about.”

“If you are struggling with whatever is going on in your own life, just know that you’re not alone. By talking to someone, be it a pal, a family member or a stranger as the case may be, it does help.”

Síle later returned to social media and told her followers that she was “sending so much love”, as she received many supportive messages after telling her story.

“Trying to keep up with the messages I am getting after today’s stories and I’m reminded of these beautiful words.
So very true,” the 39-year-old wrote alongside a quote about what makes a beautiful person.

“Not sure I will be able to respond to all of them directly but I appreciate them all and I am sending so much love XXX” Síle finished.
