Sharon Horgan to make directorial debut for her first feature film

Sharon Horgan is set to direct her first feature film.

The actress has created and co-created a number of programmes such as Catastrophe, Motherland and HBO’s Divorce.

The 48-year-old is now making her directorial debut for a feature version of the novel The New World.

The film follows the story of Jim, a man who passes away but has his head frozen by a sketchy organisation that is trying to end mortality forever.

While Jim embarks on a journey within an ‘afterlife’ of some sorts, his wife deals with her husband’s loss and tries to retrieve his frozen head.

Alicia Van Couvering and Olivia Wilde are set to produce the feature film.

Sharon has previously won a BAFTA for her work on the Sky One short, The Week Before Christmas.
