She’s had serious Oscar buzz all year, for her role in Lady Bird, and this weekend Saoirse Ronan won Best Actress at the Golden Globes.
Award season has well and truly kicked off in Hollywood, with the Golden Globes bringing the best actors of TV and film together.
Saoirse beat off stiff competition from Emma Stone, Helen Mirren, Margot Robbie and Judi Dench to scoop the award.
Taking to the stage Saoirse said her mum was watching on FaceTime.
“My mam is on FaceTime over there on someone’s phone right now, so hi,” she said.
“I have no time at all to say thank you, but I just want to say how inspirational it’s been to be here in this room tonight. I’m here with my best friend Eileen.
“All of the women who I love so much in my own life who support me every single day – my mother, who’s on FaceTime. Margot, all of my friends and family and actually everyone in this room.”
