RTÉ’s Celebrity Operation Transformation will NOT be returning this year

The show has been axed from the Autumn schedule

Celebrity Operation Transformation will not be returning for a third season this year.

The celebrity version of the popular weight-loss series aired for two years as part of RTÉ’s Autumn schedule, but it’s been dropped from this year’s line up.

According to RSVP Live, producers were finding it hard to get celebrities to participate this year.

The news comes after OT host Kathryn Thomas landed a new presenting gig on Ireland’s Fittest Families alongside Anna Geary, Derval O’Rourke, Donncha O’Callaghan, and Davy Fitzgerald.

Kathryn took over from Mairead Ronan, who’s expecting her third child.

In the first season of the show, viewers followed Elaine Crowley, Katherine Lynch, Karl Spain, Gerald Kean and Brenda Donohue on their weight loss journey.

Then in series two, fans of the show watched James Patrice, Mary Byrne, Gary O’Hanlon, Kayleigh Cullian and Triona McCarthy shed the pounds in a matter of weeks.
