RTÉ bosses are eager to find the “right team” to join Jennifer Zamparelli in her new 2FM slot.

The Breakfast Republic presenter will take over the 10am-1pm slot on RTÉ 2FM on June 10, and station bosses are currently on the hunt for the right people to join ‘Jen at Ten’.

An RTE source told the Irish Sun: “Jennifer’s team hasn’t been decided yet but they will be put in place over the next week or so.”

“The team will then have a six-week lead-in time to get ready for Jennifer’s first programme on June 10, which is plenty of time.”

Meanwhile, former Montrose boss Willie O’Reilly has said: “Getting the right team together is crucial.”

“Gay Byrne had the right team — Joe Duffy as a roving reporter. Gerry Ryan had Brenda Donohue, Ray D’Arcy had Jenny Kelly and Mairead Ronan. Dermot has Dave.”

“You have the person on the microphone but to keep a three hours show going you need the right team.”

“The right team is key. Jennifer needs to surround herself with the best talent she can — researchers, producers, contributors. It’s all one big family,” he added.

According to RTÉ insiders, Jennifer’s new show will have a strong “fun element”.

“Jennifer is very funny, humour is one of her big traits, so Jen at Ten will have a strong comedy aspect to it. It will be a fun show,” the source said.

Jennifer will be replacing Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene in the 10am-1pm slot, after the pair announced their shock departure from the station last month.
