Rosanna Davison calls on Dublin City Council to ban wild animals from circuses

Rosanna Davison has teamed up with animal rights organisation PETA to ban the use of wild animals in Irish circuses.

The 32-year-old is a passionate animal rights activist having posed naked before in a PETA campaign to promote a vegan lifestyle, and now Rosanna wants to target the circus.

The Dublin City Council are expected to vote on whether to halt wild-animal circuses on public land this evening.

The blonde beauty wrote to the council explaining why they need to vote to ban animal circuses.

“Treated as if they were equipment, animals used in circuses spend most of their lives in trailers and, often, chains,” she wrote to the council.

“They are crammed into transport cages, hauled around from one venue to the next, and denied the opportunity to satisfy their most fundamental needs, never having an opportunity to roam over large distances, socialise with their own kind, forage, or make independent choices about their lives.

“It’s simply unacceptable for astonishing animals like elephants, lions and tigers to be deprived of everything that’s natural and important to them, just so that spectators can watch them perform ridiculous and often painful tricks..

“A ban which reflects an adequate understanding of the needs, interests, and behaviour of animals who deserve to remain wild is long overdue. Please, join the growing list of local authorities that have rejected this archaic form of entertainment on their land.”

Rosanna isn’t the only Irish celeb about animal rights as Gabriel Byrne has also spoken out about the protection of wild animals.
