Rory McIlroy has said he’s break up with tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki has been great for his career.
The golfer revealed that breaking off his engagement to the Dane was a good thing, because now he can focus on the sport.
“I think what happened has been the best in terms of my golf. I’ve put a bit more time into it and it has refocused me,” he said.

“I go to the golf course, to the gym and it’s just my life at the minute,” he told Dailymail.co.uk.
“I worked pretty hard before but the past couple of months I’ve really just buried myself in my game.
“I’ve practiced hard and I’ve done all the right things and I’m reaping the rewards.”

“Mentally, I am just in a far better place,” he said.
Although he said splitting from Caroline helped him, dating Belfast beauty Sasha Gale could be helping him too.
The pair were dating for five weeks when he won the British Open.
