REVEALED: The glitzy theme for this weekend’s Dancing With The Stars

We can't wait for this one!

Get the popcorn at the ready, because this weekend Dancing with the Stars takes inspiration from the silver screen – as the celebrities and their dance partners channel their inner Hollywood for ‘movie night’.

After smashing the Charleston last week and topping the leader board, Alannah Beirne and Vitali Kozmin will take on an American Smooth routine to City of Stars from Oscar winning romantic musical La La Land.

Following a sizzling samba last Sunday night Anna Geary and her partner Kai Widdrington will perform a contemporary number to Let it Go from the Disney smash hit Frozen, while Bernard O’Shea will channel his inner Jack Sparrow when he and Valeria Milova take on the Paso Doble to He’s a Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean.

After opening the show on a ‘tangolicious’ high last Sunday, Deirdre O’Kane and John Nolan return this week to perform a lively Quickstep to Peppy and George from The Artist.

Last week we saw Erin and Ryan perform a “dark and mysterious” Viennese Waltz, but this Sunday Erin will release her fun and flirty side when she and Ryan tackle the Charleston to Woo Hoo from cult classic Kill Bill.

Jake Carter and Karen Byrne will go Back to the Future as they perform the Cha Cha Cha to The Power of Love from the 80’s big screen block buster, while Maïa Dunphy and Robert Rowiński will perform the romantic Rumba to Up Where We Belong from An Officer and a Gentleman.

After receiving some controversial comments from the judges last week for his Cha Cha Cha, Marty Morrissey and Ksenia will be hoping the impress the panel when they perform a lively American Smooth number to Pretty Irish Girl from Darby O’Gill and the Little People.

Rob Heffernan and Emily Barker will “shake, shake, shake” their bodies when they perform a sizzling Samba to Jump in the Line from Beetlejuice, while Tomás O’Leary and Giulia Dotta will aim to dominate the dancefloor with a dramatic version of the Paso Doble to Led Zepplin’s Immigrant’s Song from superhero film Thor: Ragnarok.

Unfortunately it won’t be a Hollywood ending for all couples this Sunday night when the second celebrity will be eliminated from the competition.

Who will have a blockbuster hit and who will have a box office flop during this filmic spectacular? Tune in to find out this Sunday at 6.30pm on RTÉ One.
