The production company behind Podge and Rodge have confirmed the show is not being renewed.
The cult-hit had been commissioned to return to RTE, with Doireann Garrihy taking over the reigns from original host Lucy Kennedy.
But after reports that the series was axed, the production company have confirmed the news.
Taking to Twitter the official Podge and Rodge account wrote: “Tis true! #PodgeAndRodge Show will not be returning!
“However it was the craic making our brief inglorious comeback! Thanks to yis all for tuning in, to the crew and of course the mighty @DoireannGarrihy who is always welcome in Ballydung, once she gives us a good months notice!”
It was the first TV series Doireann fronted as a host, but she still continues to work on her TV show The Doireann Project.
The news comes after we exclusively revealed Doireann is being “lined up” for a new show on 2FM.
