Pauline McLynn admits: 'I never know where my next job will come from'

She is one of Ireland’s most recognisable faces in acting but actress Pauline McLynn has revealed she always worries that her acting days are numbered.

Although she has a hugely successful career and is thought of as a TV legend for her role as Mrs Doyle in Father Ted, the Sligo native still worries where her next role will come from.

“I always think every job is the last. I also think the day you think you know something is up, because you’re cocky,” the 52-year-old said frankly.

“I look back and I think that [her acting past] was all great, but I’m not sure I’m getting any better at anything.

“I think that’s something as you older,” she said.

“I think you just get fussier and nothing is good enough, and as a result you think ‘I’ve lost it’.”

Equality tea: Pauline spoke at the launch of Yes Equality’s Tea and Cake initiative

Speaking at the Yes Equality campaign’s launch of ‘Tea and Cake’, Pauline joined entertainers Camille O’Sullivan and Mundy to show their support for the forthcoming marriage referendum.

The unique initiative invites people to host  their own ‘Tea and Cake’ events over the Bank Holiday Weekend, between May 1st and 4th, to discuss the vote.
