Part with your parka – Liam Gallagher teams up with Dublin homeless charity

Oasis star Liam Gallagher has teamed up with a Dublin homelessness charity to start a clothing drive.

The Part With Your Parka campaign encourages people to donate warm coats to Inner City Helping Homeless as the temperatures in the city drop.

ICHH aims to find homes for Dublin’s vulnerable homeless community.

Liam fans who drop off a coat to the ICHH will be entered into a draw to win tickets to one of the rocker’s shows and a meet and greet with the star.

Liam will play two gigs at the 3 Arena at the end of November.

ICHH head of communications Brian McLoughlin told RTE: “Liam and his team are fully aware of the homelessness crisis in Ireland and want to do their bit by encouraging fans to donate a coat to us in ICHH in return for entering a draw to win a meet-and-greet and two tickets to Liam’s shows at the end of the month.”

“Winter has hit Ireland already with winter showers threatening the capital this week, so we are inundated with orders for warm clothes from the people we are assisting seven days a week on the streets of Dublin,”

10,338 people are currently relying on emergency accommodation in Ireland – one of the highest figures on record.

This number does not include people sleeping rough, in refugee centers or in women’s sanctuaries.
