Nicky Byrne has responded to rumours that Westlife are set to reunite.
Over the weekend, the Irish Sun reported that the famed boyband are getting back together next year to release new music, and embark on a massive reunion tour.
Following that, it was claimed that Ed Sheeran has penned their comeback track, but the news has not yet been confirmed by bandmates Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Markus Feehily, and Nicky Byrne.
However, after taking the day off his RTÉ 2FM show yesterday, Nicky finally responded to the rumours during a chat with his co-host Jenny Greene this morning.
After getting on the topic of “rumours”, the Westlife reunion was brought up, and Nicky asked Jenny if it would be a “bad thing”.
Jenny replied, “I’m probably gonna say it’s a bad thing, I don’t want to lose my best friend.”
However, Nicky then responded, “Who says it’s true? It’s only hear say…” but later added, “I’ve said it before one day it will happen.”
It looks like Nicky is avoiding confirming/denying anything, so we’ll just have to wait and see…
